6 Awesome Things to do in Sedona, AZ
1. GO HIKING!
Sedona is filled with a TON of hikes and they are all absolutely stunning! In fact, in all of my road trips across the US, I have to say that Sedona has some of the most gorgeous hikes I've ever seen and a lot of them. There's almost too many to choose from!
Some great ones to check out are:
Devil's Bridge Trail - Distance: 2 to 4 miles | Easy
Airport Loop Trail - Distance: 3 miles | Easy
Soldiers Pass Trail - Distance: 4.5 miles | Moderate
Bell Rock Trail - Distance: 1 mile | Moderate
Cathedral Rock Trail - Distance: 1.2 miles | Moderate
Bear Mountain - Distance: 5 miles | Strenuous
This is just a select few that I loved but trust me when I say, there are many many others that you can explore in the area.
2. Do a Scenic Drive of the Red Rock Scenic Byway, or book a Sedona Red Rock Tour!
This was a tour that I did with Pink Adventure Tours, they were awesome! I would definitely recommend their tours if you don't have a car in Sedona!
The scenic byway is one of the prettiest drives I've gone through! If you're renting a car in Sedona then this is an absolute must do! State Route 179, also known as SR 179, the Red Rock Scenic Byway, a north–south state highway in Arizona is a must see. Who doesn't love a good scenic road drive!
3. Go Shopping or Simply Browse the Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village
Tlaquepaque (pronounced T-la-keh-pah-keh) is authentically fashioned after a traditional Mexican village, Tlaquepaque, meaning the "best of everything," has been a Sedona landmark since the 1970's. This little village had so much character and was absolutely stunning!! It's enveloped with all of these gorgeous sycamore trees and has a totally magical feel to it. You could seriously hang out here all day!
If you're lucky enough, you can even catch a Tango show right in the village on one of the evenings. You can truly find some amazing gems in this shopping village. If arts and crafts are your jam then this is a must do for your Sedona trip! Plan your visit by visiting the official Tlaquepaque website here.
4. Visit the Chapel of the Holy Cross
This was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Sedona. This chapel is pretty epic! It's also a well known landmark of this area. The chapel is open 7 days a week from 9-5pm. I highly recommend you visit her early because it's almost impossible to find parking and it is an extremely busy attraction! But it's well worth the visit!
The chapel is located on Chapel road off route 179. This Roman Catholic Chapel was built in 1956 and the architecture is seriously impressive! You will have gorgeous views of the red rocks of Sedona, and it's truly a sight to see. The chapel also has daily mass of which you can view the full schedule through the chapel's website here.
Here are a few more stunning photos of this amazing chapel high up on the red rocks of Sedona.

There are many many incredible vistas to catch the sun rise or sun set upon the epic red rocks of this stunning area! This is a definite must do. You won't regret it. You could either hike to a particular spot, or simply drive there. The views are pretty phenomenal wherever you are in Sedona - you can't pick a wrong spot to catch the sunrise or sunset, I guarantee this.
6. Spend some time shopping and browsing the plethora of stores in Uptown Sedona.
I'm not gonna lie, Uptown Sedona is where it's at! You can't go to Sedona and not visit the famous Uptown area. It's filled with an exciting array of amazing stores, especially a ton of crystal shops if you're into that! It's basically a fun and busy street to check out, and probably one of the prettiest towns I've ever visited due to the amazing backdrop of the red rocks in the background.
Highly recommend a morning or afternoon spent in this cool area.
